This file was initially tagged by Ash Crow as no source (no source since); I created an undeletion request but Zscout370 decided to restore the file without investigation of the source. Just an example calculation (no facts):
- Image taken in 1884 (Henri Poincaré is 30y) by a 25 years old photographer
- Photographer died in 1934
- The image would be in the PD since 2005-01-01
Therefore it is likely that copyright has expired but not entirely impossible. Of course something like Anonymous-EU, (PD-US-no notice) (if first published there) could also apply.
- File:Young Poincare.jpg is the same photo but with a border. RE rillke questions? 18:45, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- That was originally a duplicate of this image, but then this one got cropped. Looks like they were both copied from the same fr-wiki image, though Young_Poincare.jpg was copied to en-wiki first before coming here. Carl Lindberg (talk) 16:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'd say
Keep with {{Anonymous-EU}}. It was definitely published in the Vol 1, No. 2 edition of the Rice Institute Pamphlet from 1915; see here. That is referenced in a later volume here, mentioning publication elsewhere as well, and nowhere I can see that identifies a photographer. Also on page 477 of Volume 4 (May 1917) of the Scientific Monthly magazine. Again, don't see a photographer. [Incidentally, found another portrait of Poincaré in the January 1913 (Volume 15) edition of L'Enseignement Mathématique. That is marked with "SADAG", but I'm not sure that is the photographer or just the company who did the collotype (it's labeled as the latter), unless Adolphe Buhl (the author of the associated article) would be considered the author.] Carl Lindberg (talk) 21:49, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Keep - anonymous old photo. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:14, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
